There’s Just Something About Fridays in OSGrid

It’s true that I haven’t been in OSGrid that long, but I can already tell you that these people know how to party! Every single Friday afternoon,  JayMaze Yao and Dorothea Lundquist host a kick-ass dance party on their sim Close Encounter. If you recognize the names, that’s because JayMaze and Dorothea are the talented designers behind the D&J Shop, which has incredibly beautiful furniture! They have several regions in OSGrid that showcase their artistic and architectural talents!  But that’s for another blog, let’s get back to what’s important here. It’s Friday and it’s time to PARTAAAAY!!

D&J Dance party

Gettin' our Party On!!

We have the best-est DJ in the whole world, that would be JayMaze! He plays music from every genre you can imagine. I’ve heard evertything from The Mama’s and The Papa’s to The Sex Pistols and The Hives all in the course of 2 hours and loved every minute of it!

JayMaze Yao our smexy-awesome DJ!

The D&J folks have been hosting this dance party nearly every single Friday for around 4 years. That has to be some kind of record or something! The event seems to really be something that the OSGrid residents look forward to each week. I can totally understand that. For the majority of the week, we residents are on our own little regions building, creating and dreaming.  It’s nice to have some set events to look forward to where we can take a step back, meet some new peeps and get a little social! I can see why the event became, and has remained popular. The welcome is warm, the lag is non-existent and the music is rockin’! If you find yourself looking for something to do on a Friday afternoon, pop in  to blow off some steam and have a good time.

  1. Yeah, I’m a D&J addict. Always there, having fun, sharing stuff, being friendly, getting half-past-drunk, and best thing of all: It’s a great way to wind down a little, just hangout a bit, enjoy some good music, do funny stuff (brainstorming about an ” Ultimate OSgrid Tune” as we speak)

A awesome way to start the weekend.

I agree Oddy! It was great meeting you “in person” today. I’m pretty sure I’ll be an addict too. 😉

  3. 🙂 Rock this sim until it crashes!!! But we are partying even if the grid goes offline. Thank you so much metaversemina!

The talented designer behind the D&J Shop, which has incredibly beautiful furniture and the several regions in OSGrid that showcase an artistic and architectural talent are made and build by Dorothea Lundquist. All credits to her!

This write up makes me think that I should attempt to be more social on the grid. I’ve not met that many other avatars since I started this. Mostly I just hang out on my sim or travel the hypergrid alone.

You definitely should come out and play! The Friday dance thingy is a blast, and, if you join the Load Test Party Peeps group, we often have impromptu load test parties on various sims. It’s really a lot of fun!
